Short Films

Short films – less than 30 minutes usually 15-20 minutes

Attending the Cannes Short Film Corner is a huge deal for the BlindSide team.  It means a lot for us to be part of this amazing collection of short films.  It’s great opportunity for our director Dimi Nakov to be able to network and further promote BlindSide.  Thanks to the fundraiser on IndieGoGo, created by Kay Rayner and Phil Greeves and curated by Jonathon Rayner-Burt, the BlindSide Team can secure some of the funds necessary to cover airfare, accommodation and food for Dimi whilst attending Cannes.

If you have few minutes please share the video and the fundraiser link.  Even doing this small thing for us is a great help.

We are pleased to announce that BlindSide has been accepted to the Cannes Short Film Corner 2012, as part of the 65th Festival de Cannes 2012. The Cannes Short Film Corner is an area where accredited guests, film buyers, film festival programmers, producers and sales agents come to watch the selected short films in the digital film library. We are very honoured to be part of this collection.

Help us get the Director and Producer, Dimi Nakov, to Cannes to attend the festival so he can promote BlindSide and Zodiac Entertainment’s other projects: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/86426?a=38035

It was an adventure to honor the memory of his brother Alan, who died as a teenager from leukemia. In completing the 7in7 Mal raised more than $85,000 for the Leukemia & Blood Foundation of NZ and so helped make a huge difference to people suffering from this cruel illness.

Mal Law’s Quote:

“I suspect that the experience of losing my ‘big bro’ when I was just 9 years old has had quite an impact on my life. It’s difficult to imagine that it hasn’t shaped the person I am today — for better or worse — in some way or other. Perhaps this is what gives me the fight to take on big challenges? Who knows?”

“No matter. Alan, this one is for you bro’

The film was shot in december 2009 and completed in post in May 2010.
